Sorry that I’ve been so out of touch lately here on the blog. In my defense, it’s just not here, but everywhere in my life that I’ve been out of touch. It’s mostly work-related stress, a combination of real and perceived issues. And learning how to adapt as/when things are changing, but still staying the same. Maybe not much different from what’s going on in the wider world.
When I last had a proper blog post, one that wasn’t a repost from Instagram, I mentioned that one of my favorite podcasts, Calm it Down with Chad Lawson, was back from a summer break. However, he won’t be back until after Labor Day.
Now I’m thinking that’s what I am going to do here on the blog for the handful of you that are still reading my blog. I’ll be back after Labor Day. Next weekend, my wife is having her Labor Day Weekend as she works the actual Labor Day Weekend. A friend is visiting and then the following weekend, I’ll have all three days off. Who knows? Maybe I’ll actually read a book. π€
See y’all in early September.
I think sometimes we just need a break from our “obligations” even if we really enjoy them (like blogging). And with work stress happening, it’s no wonder you have been a bit absent in the digital world. Take the time, deal with the stress, then come back to us. We’ll be here.

Sorry to hear you are going through a tough time Bryan. Work -related stress is a horrid experience because you know you have to face the cause of the stress every day. I had a spell of that years ago – loved the job but my colleague made life so much hell I dreaded finding what she had done that day. In the end I decided no job is worth that pain so I looked elsewhere. I don’t know if that’s an option for you?? If not, have you discussed it with your manager`??

I’m kinda in the same place. I haven’t been posting regularly since April and even though I put something up periodically, I’m not sure when it’ll become a full time thing again. Shrug.

Since Calm It Down is new to me, I don’t have to wait until after Labor Day to listen to new episodes. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I’m reading two humorous books right now, and I really don’t want to get to the end of either of them. One is A.J. Jacobs’ latest experiment, The Puzzler. The other is a novel called Early Morning Riser. Both are reminding me that perhaps life isn’t to be taken quite so seriously (something I tend to do).

Sorry that the work issues are still…well, an issue. That sounds challenging and frustrating, and I’m sorry you’re dealing with all this. Since we work in the same field, let me know if there’s anything I can do, like put you in touch with someone at our place who might do similar work who could provide some resources, guidance, or support. Hope you’re able to enjoy the downtime and upcoming 3-day weekend.

Thank you, Melissa, for the offer. I might email you at some point, because it’s more complicated than just a quick off-the-cuff response here.

Your comment is not inappropriate at all. I’m just trying to be honest with my readers where I am. Thank you for your concern and offer of help. Some of it is things I have to “work on”.
