Almost every Sunday since mid-May 2020 with a few exceptions, I have been taking my own personal Sabbath, where I tune out of the news and social media and turn off my ringer and all notifications on my phone. Throughout the day and/or sometimes the next day, I share what I am reading, listening to, or watching during my Sabbath.
So, today is the first Sunday of October and…
I am meditating…
…with Eve.
I am chilling…
…in The Chill Out Tent.
I am reading…
…the next in the Rabbi Small series.

So, what are you up to this fine Sunday?
I now am on Substack. Subscribe here.
My Sundays are busy with student ministry so I am always late responding to these Sunday posts. I get home by 1:30pm and then I often collapse on the couch for a nap. Ha! I am still not able to walk much so the pup is not happy with me. I am about to start watching Squid Games which I’ve heard is sooooo gruesome but good. Just started Peter Heller’s new book, The Guide. I love Heller but this book hasn’t gotten great reviews so we shall see how it sits with me.

Sounds like it was a nice day. I didn’t know you’d decided officially to go to Substack. I will have to check it out. Hope you and the wife are having a good week (she said as if she hasn’t been talking to the wife about planners and journals all week 😉 )

I know. I know. It’s all she talks about. Planners, blah, blah, blah. 😉 But seriously, folk, The Wife and I are having a good week. Tonight we’re watching Black Widow…with wine, which ought to make it more palatable. 🙏

Well, it’s Monday and your IG posts can’t be viewed because Facebook and IG are down (what a weird feeling . . . I just had an article I wanted to share on FB and realized, oops, I can’t do that). We were total bums, yesterday. I did manage to sweep the entire house and did a couple other minor chores while husband worked on the yard, but mostly I read Daphne du Maurier’s The Birds and Other Stories. Still thinking about the creepy apple tree in the third story and almost done with the book.

We are having a very quiet and boring Sunday. It’s raining outside, the TV is on, I’m trying to get some blog work done and all the while feeling like I need a break. Maybe I should step out for a bit. Your Sunday sounds like a lot of fun!

It’s been raining here too…on and off. I keep nodding off so I’m taking a little nap.

My plan is to read some blogs, then bake a cake for tonight’s dessert. We’re having my SIL over for dinner. If I’m lucky, I’ll have time to read a little, too. Enjoy your day, Bryan!

I tried a little reading this afternoon. Didn’t stick as I keep nodding off. Time for a short nap.

I love that you take Sundays to “turn off” and enjoy. I should do that as I find that I get sucked into reading blogs, which leads to checking my work email, which leads to me looking up hours later and half the day has disappeared.

Reading blogs is okay, but work e-mail…no, no, no. 🙂 I almost was going to go into work today for something…and then I said, “Nyuh.”

This sounds like a fabulous way to spend a day. I think I will pay a visit to the Chill Out Tent today, too.
And, of course, I will be reading. I’m about a hundred pages into Ruth Ozeki’s new book, The Book of Form and Emptiness.
