2017 Thankfully Reading Weekend — I’m in!

I’m off today, watching The Punisher, but already I’m thinking about the next time I’m off: Wednesday through Sunday. As most Thanksgiving weekends, my wife is working and I am participating in another Thankfully Reading Weekend, hosted by Jenn of the blog Jenn’s Bookshelves. I initially planned to start a reread of The Lord of the Rings, but I do have another book, Bluebird, Bluebird, by Attica Locke already checked out from the Free Library of Philadelphia and a few others on hold there that might come in so we’ll see.

I’ll keep you posted here and on Instagram with the hashtag for the event #thankfullyreading. If you want to find out more about the event or want to participate, click on the image above to be taken to Jenn’s post earlier this week.

  1. We’re hosting Thanksgiving (a very sore subject here) but since I have a non-functional oven, we’re hosting it at a restaurant. Since I am really unhappy with the plans this year, I will be spending a lot of time in my room reading and avoiding people so I don’t have a real honesty moment in front of my kids. 😦

  2. I love the Lord of the Rings, haven’t read that trilogy in ages. I just downloaded a few mysteries on the Kindle so I will hop on that for the long weekend. Since Doug’s father died in August we won’t be going to the house for a big gathering this year. That means more quiet time, more reading time.
